Wild Heart Ranch Volunteer of the Year 2011

We love and appreciate all of our volunteers, sponsors and advisors at Wild Heart Ranch, but this year, we selected a special person that our Organization wishes to recognize as someone who has truly made Wild Heart a part of their daily routine, concerns and identity.

Greg Silva began with Wild Heart Ranch through our rehabilitation training classes last year and has been addicted since! A gifted photographer, Greg captures the animals we care for with his camera, and his photos have become treasures for all to share, even winning a blue ribbon at the Tulsa fair with a close up of Otis! That's talent!

Greg made it his mission last summer during the brutal baby season to make certain that our crew always had food for our breaks and plenty to drink. We all quickly became spoiled with having our people groceries delivered. Whenever I voiced a problem, whether it was lacking something for an animal or trying to resolve a 'how to' challenge, there was Greg walking in the door with the solution. He is our "waterboy" our "lunch lady" and our "human google" all wrapped into one! Greg is also a reptile and amphibian enthusiast and is expanding his knowledge to include rehabilitation of these animals to better assist me when I get stuck. The year 2011 was enriched and blessed with SO many people, but Greg Silva stood out as someone who changed the rhythm of Wild Heart Ranch for the better and made our world here turn a little easier every day. Thank you Greg! We love you and we appreciate all that you do and all that you are for animals. Welcome to the jungle! Hope you like it because you never get to leave!
