Wild Heart Ranch
to participate in new
Animal Planet Show

March 8, 2010

Myself, my family, my Board of directors and crew have all been anxiously awaiting the day we could talk about our upcoming Animal Planet show starring my good friend and personal hero for wildlife, Ned Bruha. I cant help but remember more than a year ago, Ned and I were having one of our long conversations about 'saving the planet'. More specifically, teaching people how to respect the needs and nature of wildlife and how to humanely manage encounters without harm or death. Ned and I are both considered "bunny huggers" in the literal sense as we have dedicated our lives and careers to mastering "doing the right thing". We feel that showing others respect and understanding for these animals makes the world a better place for all of us.

We talked about the possibility of him getting his own wildlife reality show where he could do what he does best, and I could ride on his coat tails and bring in money to expand my wildlife rescue. Well, so many months later, here we are! The Skunk Whisperer crews teach people how to provide long term nuisance wildlife control solutions by evicting wildlife out of attics and into the trees where they belong rather than repeatedly killing and trapping them. They rescue orphaned and injured animals in distress, and I am here to take in the rescues who need medical care or raising and release them back where they belong. Bruha says "If our offices are forced to bring an animal to a rehabber from one of our client's homes, we feel as though we have failed. The best place for any animal is in their current territory with their mother; but not in or under buildings. Annette's wisdom and experience has taught me how to better assist our clients and their uninvited guests".

Our producers are excited about the show. I have made it clear that my work cannot be interfered with, and they understand and respect the integrity of what we do here. Myself and my crew will do our job with the cameras rolling and we all feel that sharing the experience of life at Wild Heart Ranch will bring a new appreciation to the profession of Wildlife Rehabilitation.

We are planning an Open House Event at Wild Heart Ranch on May 22nd to raise money and supplies for the spring orphans. We aren't rich and famous yet, and we still need the support of our community to keep going and growing WILD!
